DAF dealer Imperial Commercials has appointed two former Mercedes-Benz executives as directors for its western and Birmingham regions.
Daniel Fitzjohn started his career as an apprentice truck technician and began working for the Mercedes dealer network in 2007. He was responsible for commercial vehicle dealers in Abu Dhabi and Oman, before returning to the UK to work in the manufacturer’s car division.
Fitzjohn will be based at Imperial’s Bristol branch and will oversee DAF sales, service and parts activities in six locations across the dealer’s western region.
Vincente Connolly (pictured) joined Mercedes-Benz as an apprentice technician and then had roles in car, van and truck sales. In 2005, he joined the firm’s head office in Milton Keynes as a regional manager, was promoted to head of dealer sales in 2009 and latterly director of national sales.
Last May he joined the now defunct TOM Group as franchise director where he led the Mercedes truck and van business. The pair will report to Matt Lawrenson, MD at Imperial, which has 25 DAF-franchised locations throughout the UK.
Lawrenson said: “Both have outstanding CVs, and demonstrate the prerequisite drive and dynamism to stimulate significant business growth in our strategically important western and Birmingham regions.”
