Imperial Commercials has reopened its Warwick branch after suffering damage during a fire that destroyed an adjacent warehouse.

Staff at the DAF dealer, led by service team leader Jim Powell, carried out an emergency evacuation at the facility in Wellesbourne Park on 9 March. Although there were no injuries, the building sustained serious smoke-related and minor structural damage, and closed while a full clean-up and decontamination took place.

Imperial Commercials temporarily transferred work to its sites at Garretts Green, Halesowen and Worcester, and redeployed staff to ensure services for hauliers were largely unaffected.

Warwickshire Fire & Rescue praised Powell and his team for doing “an excellent job in moving customers’ vehicles and other items that could otherwise have compromised the fire-fighting efforts”.
