The construction version of Daf’s CF features a distinctive black grill that the manufacturer describes as “displaying strength”.
Backing this claim up, the model’s headlights are made from “unbreakable” Lexan (a form of hardened plastic).
A 3mm-thick steel plate is fitted under the CF’s bumper to protect the radiator, and ground clearance is quoted as 40cm, thanks in part to the use of straight front axles.
The new Daf CF Construction is delivered as a three-axle 6x4 rigid with an 8- or 9-tonne front axle and a 19-, 21- or 26-tonne tandem, or as three-axle 6x4 tractor. An 8x4 rigid is available as a base for tipper or concrete mixer applications, and with twin steered 7.5-, 8- or 9-tonne front axles, combined with a 19-, 21- or 26-tonne tandem, provides a high design GVW of 32 to 44 tonnes.
Power is supplied by the 12.9 litre Paccar X-13 engine with ratings between 410hp and 510hp, and the new 10.8 litre Paccar MX-11 engine with ratings between 290hp and 440hp.
The 19-tonne LF Construction vehicle manages ground clearance of 32 cm at the front, and features the same protective plate over its radiator as the CF.
The LF Construction is available with the 6.7 litre Paccar PX-7 engine with ratings between 220hp and 310hp.
