The XD range, the current International Truck of the Year 2023, will take centre stage on DAF’s Road Transport Expo stand.
The award will be presented by Will Shiers, editor of Commercial Motor and UK jury member on Wednesday 28 June 11am, and he will be joined on the DAF stand by fellow members of the jury.
Among the featured models is an XD 450 FT Sleeper Cab, an ideal tractor for urban and regional operations. It is equipped with the DAF Digital Vision System, including the corner view camera and a kerb view window, giving it a 4-star Direct Vision Standard rating.
Another featured model is the XD 410 FAN 6x2 rear-steer rigid, which is equipped with a Truck Loaders builders' merchants body and a rear-mounted HIAB crane.
There will also be an XDC 450 FAD 8x4 Sleeper Cab tipper, fitted with a Boweld body. It’s powered by the MX-11 engine and a 12-speed TraXon gearbox.
Visitors to the stand will be able to see a flagship XG+ 530 FTG too. This top-of-the-range truck features a host of creature comforts, such as an electrically controlled DAF Relax Bed, heated and ventilated driver seat, and a leather folding cinema passenger seat.
Additionally, DAF will be showing a pair of LF Electric 19-tonners. One of these is about to go into operation with Campeys of Selby, and will feature in the 29 June issue of Commercial Motor. The other is on loan from the Battery Electric Truck Trial; a Department for Transport initiative.
The truck manufacturer will use the show to promote career opportunities in the transport industry, with an eye-catching ‘Made for DAF’ liveried DAF XG FTN (pictured) on show.
DAF Trucks will also be taking part in the Ride & Drive programme, and visitors with the correct licences will be welcome to register their interest to test drive an LF 210 4x2 7.5-tonner with the new PowerLine fully-automatic 8-speed gearbox, and an XD 370 FAN 6x2 rigid with curtainside body.
- Road Transport Expo takes place at Stoneleigh NAEC on June 28-30. It’s FREE to attend, and registrations are now open.
