Temperature-controlled haulage specialist Dale Brothers UK has taken delivery of six reefers from Schmitz Cargobull, all fitted with the manufacturer’s trailer telematics system.

The two multi-temperature and four mono-temperature trailers, which replace older trailers in the Telford firm’s fleet of 100, will be used to carry meat to supermarket chains in the UK and Germany. Each trailer comes with Schmitz Cargobull’s TrailerConnect temperature and telematics package, which monitors and records data in real time.

It also improves security by tracking the trailer’s location. The system will send the operator a text message or email if it has been tampered with. The refrigeration units come with two-year full-service maintenance contracts that cover all maintenance costs.

Approved Schmitz Cargobull service partners across the UK and Europe will carry out any repair work. Dale Brothers UK director Neyland Dale said: “Schmitz Cargobull’s refrigeration and telematics package gives us complete control and our customers confidence and there’s nothing else like it on the market.

"The system means we can monitor the condition of the trailer’s components at the click of a button, and make sure we are one step ahead of any repair work, which is vital as we cannot afford to have them off the road for a long time. We’ve been buying Schmitz Cargobull trailers for many years because they are robust and reliable.”
