Dampney’s has put its first two Volvo trucks into operation.

The 410hp 8x4 duo are specified with Volvo’s tandem lift axle, and are in use at Dampney’s recycling operations across South and South West England.

“The FMXs have now been in service for a month. Our drivers like the trucks and find them extremely comfortable for a day’s work,” said Gavin Dampney.

Joining a fleet of 13, Dampney’s two Volvos have sleeper cabs and 12-speed I-Shift gearboxes, as well as high chassis heights. The 24m2 Wilcox tipper bodies have electric sheeting systems and air operated tailgates.

Dampney’s has taken a five-year repair and maintenance contract with the trucks, which were supplied via dealer Wales and West Truck and Bus, Avonmouth.
