After discussing the potential of fulfilling Dawnsongroup’s trailer requirements for nearly three years, Dennison Trailers is delivering an order of 170 units.

The mixed order includes 100 sliding bogie skeletal trailers, 50 12-lock platform skeletal trailers and 20 pillarless curtainsiders.

John Fletcher, MD of Dawsongroup’s truck and trailer business, said: “We have always taken product onto our fleet based on build quality, performance and whole life cost. Unless all three seem right, we don’t get involved – we owe it to our own customers, who have long trusted us to supply quality products at sensible pricing. That is key to our business, so we take time in selecting any new supplier partners. It has been a while since the initial approach from James and his team, but very worthwhile in terms of establishing trust in their offerings and building the relationships between our two teams.”

The sliding skeletals are suitable for intermodal containers at lengths of 20ft, 30ft, 40ft and 45ft. The bushes can be changed without splitting the trailer thanks to a roller arrangement and an automatic reset makes it easy to alter the ride height. For air-operated locking pins there’s a push/pull valve. LED sidelights and outline markers are fitted to the platform skeletals and the curatinsiders are fully ENXL certified and have LED sidelights with Dawsonblue curtains.

James Dennison, MD at Dennison Trailers said: “We have a number of ‘blue chip’ customers, but Dawsongroup had always been high on our top target list. So I am grateful to John for giving us the chance to convince him and his people of our quality and reliability as a manufacturer and for the subsequent order. It means a lot to us and naturally we hope it is the first of many to come. We are on schedule with deliveries, with only a small number of skeletals and curstainsiders left to go out.”
