A day in the life of…Danny Wiseman, Sales director, Utranazz

What time does your day normally begin?
If I’m not out on the road I’ll be up at 6am to make sure that I’m in the office for 7.30am. If I am out and about seeing customers I can sometimes start the day at 3am depending on whereabouts in the UK I’m going.

What type of customers do you normally sell trucks to?
We sell worldwide to a variety of customers in the construction industry, from start-ups to multi-national companies.

How much of your day is spent in the office and how much on the road?
I would say my time is split 70% on the road and 30% in the office.

How long have you been with the business?
I have worked at Utranazz for five years now, and I love it. Not one day is ever the same.

What types of trucks are selling well at the moment?
At the moment we are selling a lot of volumetric concrete mixers mounted on Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4140s, and concrete truck mixers mounted on DAF CF400s. The Fuso Canter is also extremely popular for our range of smaller concrete line pumps.

Will Brexit have an effect on the used trucks market in 2018?
I think we will see the market for used trucks increase. However, people will be more cautious and less willing to spend money on a new truck; so if they’re going to buy, they will probably buy used. If sterling remains low I would also anticipate that exports of decent used trucks will increase. Last year we saw exports of our used concrete equipment increase by around 25%.
