What time does your day normally begin?
Working within the heavy commercial fleet management sector there is no set daily routine. My day can start with a 5am call, but generally I’m at my desk for 8am to review overnight breakdown calls.

What type of customers do you normally deal with?
We have managed assets with every kind of operator, from sole traders right the way through to household names like DHL, so I’m making calls to business owners, national fleet engineers and local site managers. Our fleet portfolio ranges from vans to 8x4 32-tonne tippers. We also have a large trailer fleet from basic flatbeds to refrigerated double-deck trailers.

How is your day split?
I try to be in the office at least three days a week, but this again depends on customers’ requirements and any ongoing issues with the fleet which may require me to make a site visit.

How long have you been with the business?
I have been with Asset Alliance Group from the start in 2010.

What types of products in your sector are selling at the moment?
We are seeing an increase in requests for shorter term, two/three-year contract hire and long-term rental of 12 months plus. With shorter transport contracts becoming the norm, customers are looking to match their vehicle commitments with fixed price deals.
