Sheffield-based DBL Logistics has opened a new 33,500ft² warehouse and boosted its fleet O-licence authorisation by 10  new vehicles.

The United Pallet Network member said its flagship Tinsley Park Road facility is the company’s first independently owned site since the family-run business launched more than 10 years ago.

David Clarkson, managing director of DBL Logistics, said: “This is a landmark occasion for us. It will double our capacity to 6,000 pallets and support the company’s continued growth. We have further plans to expand the site by another 16,500ft² in the future, so this is a really exciting time for us and the logistics sector in the Sheffield city region.”

Funding for the investment was supported by HSBC Bank, which provided a £1.8m finance package to DBL Logistics.

Started by husband and wife Bert and Linda Clarkson more than 10 years ago, with son David joining the family owned business and completing the company initials DBL, the company currently employs 23 staff and has an annual turnover of more than £3.5m.
