The driver of a truck that shed its unsecured load, causing the death of a female motorist, has been fined £500.
On 7 July, 32-year-old lorry driver Neil Douglas, of Dalmally, Scotland, was found guilty of having an unsecure load.
The verdict follows an accident on 18 December 2007, where Douglas' HGV, which was carrying a 26-tonne load of timber, struck and killed 51-year-old motorist Caroline Hamilton on the A82 Fort William-Glencoe road.
The incident sparked a public campaign to upgrade the Glasgow-Inverness trunk road, which many claimed was uneven and dangerous, and resulted in the government pledging funding for improvement works.
Douglas has not worked for the company Ferguson Transport (Spean Bridge) since the accident, and he has since undergone treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder.
