Denby goes for six Daf XFs

Lincoln-based haulier Denby Transport has taken delivery of six Euro-6 Daf XF tractor units.

The international transport specialist opted for 460hp 6x2 tractors equipped with steering mid-lift axles, each with Super Space cabs and AS-Tronic gearboxes. Daf dealership Ford & Slater supplied the vehicles after Denby Transport trialled a demonstrator for two weeks.

Denby Transport MD Peter Denby said: “We are pleased with the fuel economy, achieving an average of 9mpg so far.”

Fermac shows support for Air Ambulance Service with new Scanias

Bulk haulage company Fermac has taken delivery of new tractor units in a livery that promotes the Air Ambulance Service. The units were supplied by Scania dealer TruckEast. Kettering-based Fermac began supporting the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance Service in 2006 and has now branded two R450 LA 6x2 units and trailers to help raise money for the charity.

FairFuelUK urges OFT enquiry into fuel pricing at the pumps

FairFuelUK (FFUK) has urged chief secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander to set up an OFT enquiry into fuel pricing at the pumps.Alexander has today said fuel suppliers should lower fuel prices at the pumps, passing on the benefit of falling oil prices to consumers.
