Denby Transport is preparing for trials of its 25.25m Eco-Link in the Netherlands later this month on the back of a robust financial performance at the Lincolnshire-based company.

MD Peter Denby tells Commercialmotor.com that it already has two drivers trained to drive the Eco-Link in Holland but he is waiting for the appropriate traffic flows to start the trials.

“We are basically pretty much all set to go,” Denby says. “Holland is not one of our core countries though, if it was France or Belgium it would be a different story.”

Meanwhile turnover rose 16% at Denby Transport in the 12 months ending 30 April, as the haulier finished the year with revenues of £8.2m (2011: £7m). Pre-tax profit was also up significantly to £526,923, from £390,989 in the previous year.

Denby says: “Obviously we are pleased with the results. We have had a good year.”
