DHL Express drivers walk out over late payments

DHL subcontractors in Plymouth have staged a walk-out in response to overdue payments.

On Tuesday 1 December, six subcontracted parcel delivery drivers for DHL Express in Langage Farm, Plymouth. where 27 people are employed, walked out of work for the day in protest over not being paid on time.

A company spokesman says: "Contractors are paid on invoice three times per month. However, unfortunately, due to a processing error, one payment date was missed for six Plymouth drivers. DHL has apologised for this error," .

The firm says the problem has been rectified.
