DHL Supply Chain has taken over from Wincanton the road transport element of the Marks & Spencer (M&S) store equipment contract based in Uttoxeter .

The company moved into the site in Marchington on 1 November, following a strategic review conducted by M&S.

A total of 23 employees have switched over from Wincanton under a TUPE transfer agreement.

A spokesman for Wincanton says the changes are "not related to the operational capabilities of the Marchington site" which has "always performed to a high operational standard".

Wincanton says it will continue to run the warehousing part of the store equipment agreement for M&S, and will relocate the operation from Marchington to a new site in Bradford in early 2010.

Approximatetly 59 employees are likely to be affected by this move.
