Dixons Retail has placed an order for 123 vehicle bodies from bodybuilder Cartwright.
The order via VMS (Fleet Management) is for 3.5 tonne aerodynamic rigid box vans on an Iveco chassis to be used for Knowhow, Dixons’ recently launched installation and delivery concept.
Darren Holland, group sales director for Cartwright, says: “We are delighted with this major order from VMS for such a prestigious high street retailer.”
Knowhow, conceived last year but only officially launched this spring, is part of the group’s bid to improve customer service levels.
It handles delivery of consumer electronics for the Currys, PC World and Dixons [online] brands, as well as providing after-sale support. Although the core vehicles are supplied by the retailer, the two-man crews are being engaged under a franchisee arrangement.
