Central Transport, the fleet engineering arm of John Lewis, has fitted Access XL Multi-Deck tail lifts to its urban double-deck trailers.
The company required a two-stage lifting system with access to both cargo levels for dock and kerbside deliveries, which could also be stowed at the trailer’s halfway point.
“We were looking for a replacement lift system which could combine loading flexibility with safety and ease of use,” said fleet engineer Dave Wake.
“Our Oxford Street store presented a few delivery issues which are distinct from our usual RDC operation, and I’m pleased to say that the Access XL team interpreted our technical and handling needs to produce the ideal lifting solution.”
