Peterborough-based AB Agri has taken delivery of 12 new Volvo FMs, which will be used by its pig and poultry feed manufacturing business.
The Globetrotter-cabbed FM 460 6x2 tractors, which join a 118-strong truck fleet, have been spec’d with Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels. Other features include factory-fitted cameras at the rear and a passenger corner camera, which is automatically triggered by the turning indicator.
Commenting on the new arrivals, which were supplied by Volvo Truck and Bus Centre South & East, Mark Hope, transport services contract manager at AB Agri, said: “We’ve had FMs on the fleet previously and they’ve always been a great vehicle to drive. But the new shape FM is proving to be even more popular. In terms of comfort and technology, they’ve taken a big step forward. Our drivers are delighted with them. On average, we’ve got more Volvos than any other marque and I’m looking forward to building on this over the next few years.”
The trucks will be used to pull Priden, Muldoon and Wilcox, tri-axle bulk blowing tipping trailers, and will work six days a week, covering 140,000km per annum.
Volvo Trucks will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo at NAEC Stoneleigh (30 June to 2 July). Register now for FREE.
