DPD says it expects to deliver £50m of new business in 2011 – beating last years £31.5m signed with new customers – as it targets the number one spot when it comes to market share in the B2C deliveries sector.
Speaking to Roadtransport.com, CEO Dwain McDonald, says: “This year we will generate over £50m in new sales and we are looking at 10% growth on top-line revenue.”
He says he wants the company to take an 18% market share in the B2C parcels market, beating Yodel which he believes has 17% share of the market.
Furthermore, following the launch of its one-hour home delivery slot for customers – the Predict service – McDonald says the group will now take the technology into the collections and returns sector.
For the year ending 31 December 2010, parent company Geopost, which also includes B2B arm Interlink Express, posted a turnover of £255.5m (down from £265.7m in the previous year) and a pre-tax profit of £34.4m (up from £30m a year previous).
