A Driver CPC trainer who pleaded guilty to defrauding 27 drivers out of thousands of pounds has been ordered to pay all the money back.

Mark Johnson took the cash and delivered Driver CPC training in April and May 2014, but he never uploaded their training hours.

Lauren Andrew, who arranged the training on behalf of the drivers, said she became suspicious in July 2014 when the modules had still not officially been logged. As the Driver CPC deadline neared she contacted the police and reported him.

Andrew told Commercialmotor.com that some of the drivers who were in full employment had to find another course quickly.

On 26 February, a judge at Exeter Crown Court sentenced Johnson to 240 hours community service, to be completed by 25 February 2017.

He was also ordered to pay back more than £5,000 to the drivers, £3,000 of which must be paid within 14 days. Johnson must then pay back the balance at £200 per month.
