DSV launches Entertainment Logistics arm

DSV has moved into the world of music, TV and sport transportation after it officially launched an entertainment logistics division last week.

Rene Falch Olesen, chief commercial officer at DSV and MD of DSV Road UK, had revealed exclusively to MT earlier this year his plans to set up an entertainment logistics operation (MT 22 March).

DSV Entertainment Logistics, which will be headquartered in the UK with Falch Olesen as its MD, has already supplied trailer transportation for the ATP Tennis Tour in Monte-Carlo, logistics for the Tribeca Film Festival, as well as road transport for rock band The Enemy.

It will now offer its services, including road freight, equipment storage, and packing and crating to the music, sport, TV, film and live events sectors.

"We see this as an area of great opportunity and potential growth, particularly in live music, and feel we can provide real value and expertise though our international reach and the economies of scale we can offer," adds Falch Olesen.

DSV Road has won a contract to become the preferred supplier for the UK arm of global composite materials giant Gurit. The firm will transport both full and part loads from Gurit (UK) to customers throughout Europe.
