Dunlop has introduced a new all-weather trailer tyre to replace its Dunlop SP246 range. The new Dunlop SP247, promises higher mileage and a lower cost per kilometer compared to the outgoing range and can be used across long-haul, regional and urban distribution.

The SP247 has a 5 or 6 rib design with a stronger more durable casing. It has deep sipes and a tread compound which is said to be fuel saving as well as abrasion resistant. In addition, the chemical formula of the tread compound has been changed to lower energy consumption.

The SP247 is a mud and snow (M+S) rated tyre carrying the Three Peak Mountain SnowFlake which means it is suitable for winter performance across Europe.

Three sizes are available, with 435/50 R19.5, 385/65 R22.5 and 385/55R 22.5 which get B ratings for wet grip and B or C for rolling resistance.

“The Dunlop SP247 line up demonstrates functional versatility in all applications, including long-haul and regional distribution, as well as urban and severe on-road service conditions,” said Maciej Szymanski, director marketing commercial tyres Europe.

“The new product range offers excellent winter mobility without compromising any other performance criteria. It is fully compliant with the most stringent European winter tyre legislation, requiring Three Peak Mountain SnowFlake (3PMSF) tyres.”
