The DVSA has issued updated load security guidance to HGV operators.

The Load securing: vehicle operator guidance includes advice on how best to choose a securing method; the method for loading a vehicle properly; and who is responsible for loading and unloading vehicles.

As well as the general procedure for ensuring loads are properly secured, the guide also gives sector-specific advice for the drinks, scaffolding and timber industries, among others.

It also explains the enforcement process and what the consequences could be if a load is found to be poorly secured.

See our 60 second guide to load security for more.
