Dynafleet upgraded

Volvo has recently announced an upgrade to its Dynafleet telematics system. The system now incorporates geofencing and 'driver time justification', a feature that allows drivers to justify non-driving time such as loading, unloading, cleaning or fuelling. The in-cab hardware has also been upgraded with a faster processor, more onboard memory and connectivity to laptops, palmtops and barcode readers.

VDO Dayton launches new navigation system

VDO Dayton has just launched the MS 5200, a new integrated navigation system based on Secure Digital (SD) memory cards. The system has two SD card slots, allowing it to handle large volumes of map data and providing scope for future expansion. The unit additionally incorporates a TMC receiver for traffic alerts and provides information on fixed speed cameras.

Salvesen buys G&A double-deck trailers

Christian Salvesen's Temperature Controlled Business Unit has purchased a pair of Gray & Adams double-deckers for its dedicated Marks & Spencer frozen food distribution contract. The sloping-roof reefers will be used for night trunking.
