A team from Volvo Truck and Bus Centre East Anglia has narrowly missed out on winning the manufacturer’s global competition for workshop personnel, finishing just outside the top placings.

The I Tools team from the Norwich dealership took part in two days of tasks at the Volvo International Service Training Award (Vista) finals in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Team Harju from Finland came top, showing what Volvo described as excellent teamwork and problem-solving abilities.

The aim of Vista is to develop employees’ knowledge and skills and improve customer service. More than 18,500 participants from 96 countries took part in the 2015/16 competition during a series of rounds.

. Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London workshop supervisor Rob Gray, based in Milton Keynes, has celebrated 40 years’ service with the dealer group. Gray started his Volvo career as an apprentice technician in June 1976.

Aftermarket operations director Nick Phillips presented Gray with gift vouchers and a certificate.
