Municipal vehicle specialist Cooper Group UK has launched an Ebay-style vehicle auction website: http://www.munie.co.uk./ Cooper marketing manager Richard Berry says the website is designed as a "100% transparent way for local authorities to buy and sell second-hand commercial vehicles".

One of its main features is the flat-rate listing fee and the absence of collection charges. There are three listing options Berry expects most sellers to opt for the £295 premium option, which provides an HPI check and a vehicle inspection carried out by the Freight Transport Association.

The premium option also allows the seller to upload MOT and RPC certificates.Berry also notes that contrary to selling vehicles through an auction/remarketing house, a seller's vehicles can still be working during the online sales process. Cooper plans to develop the site further, adding a members' forum, a 'wanted' message board, and an 'ask the expert' page.
