Eco-Readymix, a leading supplier of concrete, mortar, and screed, has reported a significant reduction in tyre damage and downtime since adopting Michelin X Works tyres for its fleet.

It has chosen the Michelin Remix X Works XDY 315/80 R22.5 for the drive axle and X Works HD Z 315/80 R22.5 for the steer axle for its 30-strong fleet.

Carl Weeks, transport and operations manager at Eco-Readymix, highlighted the reason behind the switch to Michelin. He said: "Our vehicles transport building materials across rough terrain at construction sites, and we were facing too many punctures and issues with our previous tyres. We decided to switch to a Michelin tyre policy, which offers a quality product and peace of mind with the tyre damage guarantee – and it's really paid off.

"If we put a set of Michelins on a truck, we're not going to see them come off for at least 18 months, maybe two years. The combination of robustness, improved performance, and longevity of the X Works range is really benefiting our business, thanks to the significant increase in vehicle uptime."

Located at its sites in Wrexham and Ellesmere Port, Eco-Readymix's fleet of tankers, tippers, and concrete mixers (including the Renault mixer pictured), were fitted with the Michelin's X Works range by DMH Tyres in Wrexham.

The X Works tyres are aimed at operators whose vehicles predominantly cover road mileage but require traction and robustness on rough tracks and construction sites for deliveries. Michelin says the tyres' performance can be attributed to its cutting-edge technology, including Powercoil, which is a new generation of robust steel casing cables that make each tyre lighter yet more durable, resulting in enhanced endurance and reduced rolling resistance.

The X Works drive tyres are also equipped with specially designed Z-sipes that significantly improve traction on roads, especially in winter conditions, including snow, enabling them to attain Three Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) certification.
