Eddie Stobart has been granted permission to park up to 30 vehicles and 30 trailers at the former Dodds Group site in Sittingbourne.

Dodds collapsed into administration in August 2011, with it subsequently revealed that it did not have enough money to pay its creditors.

However, despite this latest development there will be no resurrection of the Dodds name. Stobart simply needs overnight parking for its growing Biomass business and has opted for the location on the Eurolink Business Park.

Stobart’s Biopmass division recently won a new, long-term contract to supply fuel to the Evermore Renewable Energy Plant, which will generate revenues of £75m over the 15-year lifespan of the contract.
