Barnstaple-based Evans Transport has taken delivery of four ‘classic’ Volvo FH13s to bolster its 140-strong fleet.

The 500hp 6x2 midlift tractor units are fitted with Globetrotter XL cabs and will be used for general haulage work, and represent a recent return for the marque amongst the Evans Transport fleet.

Supplied by dealership Truck & Bus Wales and West, Evans Transport MD Nigel Evans said: “It was good to see some Volvos back in the fleet.

“In the interim there have been some issues with other makes in areas such as fuel consumption, reliability and residual values,” he added.

Evans Transport bought Peter Carroll’s – now head of FairFuelUK – business Seymour Tranport in 2010, and continues to run it as a standalone company.
