Fly tipping case ends in £10,500 penalty
A greater Manchester skip hire firm and its owner have been ordered to pay £10,500, after being prosecuted in a case relating to fly tipping at a site in Bolton.In a case brought by the Environment Agency (EA), Bolton Magistrates’ Court was told how an investigation into Radcliffe-based Abbey Skip Hire and its owner John Lally started in January 2012, when officers from Bolton Council became aware of fly tipping taking place at a council-owned area in Raikes Clough.
