Women from the likes of Wincanton, DHL Exel, Norbert Dentressangle, Kuehne + Nagel, and Gist have made the shortlist for the MAN Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards.

The awards, in association with Skills for Logistics and supported by Motor Transport, are designed to highlight the contributions women make in the industry and to encourage more women to pursue a career in transport and logistics.

MAN chief executive Des Evans says: "The calibre of this year's finalists is very high and I have no doubt that each finalist will go on to fulfil a pivotal role in her organisation."

Everywoman co-founder and director Maxine Benson adds: "While the economic downturn is affecting numerous sectors, many women are looking at alternative careers, and the transport and logistics sector is an area that offers opportunities for those wanting to make their mark."

The winners will be revealed at a gala lunch on 14 May at the Marriot Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London. To book tables, call 0870 746 1800.
