Fagan & Whalley has bought two new Mercedes-Benz Actros tractor units after the first one to enter its 200-strong fleet impressed the family-run firm.
The Padiham, Lancashire-based haulier said it decided to add more Actros units to the fleet as it impressed the drivers and looked the part in its distinctive livery.
“We take great pride in the appearance of our fleet and the Actros has the right image,” said operations director Graham Fagan. “We endeavour to provide our drivers with the best vehicles, and their feedback has been entirely positive.”
Fagan added that the Mercedes it bought last year has mpg “right up there with the very best on our fleet”.
However, Fagan said it is still early days: “The evaluation is ongoing. We want to see how the trucks perform over the longer term, but the early signs are promising.”
