FG Bond & Son puts Volvo FH into operation as it celebrates 80th anniversary

Family run FG Bond & Son, from Marshfield, near Chippenham has acquired a 6x2 Volvo FH drawbar rigid from Truck and Bus Wales and West.

The vehicle is equipped with Volvo’s D13K, Euro-6, 13-litre engine, rated at 500hp.

The aluminium bodywork, which was built by TWR at Cullompton, Devon, is fitted with an Atlas 105.2 crane, mounted at the rear of the prime mover’s chassis.

FG Bond & Son is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year and transports formed concrete products, granite, domestic kitchen worktops, as well as more unusual loads such as church bells and sculptures.

Edward Bond, director, said: “We take a lot care to ensure we operate the right equipment and have the right driver for this demanding job.”
