Operators in the North West should expect a “fresh injection of Daf”, according to F&G Commercials, which has opened a £5m Daf dealership in Trafford Park, Manchester.
The 5.2-acre site will include sales, service and parts operations as well as 10 full-length truck service bays, an ATF lane, a 3,333m2 parts warehouse, tachograph centre, truck-wash and new equipment throughout.
John Gilligan, dealer principal at Trafford Park, who was previously regional sales manager for Daf in the North West, said: “F&G Commercials has always looked to expand and develop, and Manchester was a natural extension to our existing business, but timing was important and the right location was crucial.
“Daf operators have been telling us that a new, dedicated sales, service and parts outlet was required in the area and when the opportunity arose to acquire the Chatfields business, we knew the time was right,” Gilligan added. “With a prime location in Trafford Park, operators can expect a fresh injection of the Daf brand in the North West.”
Sales and service staff are based in a 2,530m2 office and there is a truck sales showroom. The facility includes parking space for 25 trucks or trailers.
F&G bought the land for the Trafford Park site in June 2015 following its acquisition of the local Chatfields Daf business in 2014.
F&G founders Frank Woodhead and Glenn Stevenson set up the commercial vehicle business in Barnsley in 1995, and the group has since added other sites in Huddersfield and Oldham.
