Cumbria-based JT Leyland has taken delivery of its first new Renault truck, an 18-tonne Range D18 wide 4x2 curtainsider.

The vehicle, supplied by JDS Trucks Blackburn on a five-year lease, has a curtain-sided body by TruckCraft Bodies and Anteo tuckaway tail-lift. There is also a fold-down bunk, leather steering wheel, roof deflector and cruise control.

JT Leyland, which has a fleet of 20 HGVs and previously purchased used trucks, is using the vehicle in the LA and CA postcodes as part of its membership of Pall-Ex. Owner Mike Leyland said: “We selected the Range D specifically because it is well-liked by and suited to our customer’s operations.

“They run them and like the 18-tonners, so we have gone with their recommendation as well as on our own positive experiences with used Renault trucks.”
