First Renault T High for Devon-based Parsons Nationwide Distribution

Sparks Commercial Services in Exeter has supplied a Renault T520 High 6x2 tractor unit to Parsons Nationwide Distribution.

Joining a mixed fleet of 59 vehicles, the truck will be used on bulk tipper work around the UK.

Equipped with Renault’s 13-litre engine, the T High has a maximum torque of 2,550Nm.

On top of the base specification, Parsons added extras including front air suspension, Alcoa Dura-Bright aluminium wheels, fixed roof and side deflectors. Inside, the driver gets air conditioning, a 4-litreL fridge, heated and ventilated seats, insulated curtains and a leather steering wheel. 

Dale Worsley, Parsons Nationwide Distribution’s transport manager, said: “We’ve had Renault Trucks on the fleet before, but this is the first T High and it’s ideally suited to the work that we do. We had an enthusiastic recommendation from another local haulier, and the vehicle’s reputation, together with the competitive deal on the table reinforced our decision to go with Sparks and the T High.

“Keeping our driver happy was a major consideration in choosing the new vehicle and the spacious cab and optional extras we’ve specified ensure the driver has everything he needs to be comfortable out on the road. The truck’s high specification and spacious living area outshone everything, and we are delighted to add this new vehicle to our fleet.”

Parsons opted for the Start and Drive R&M contract, which is Renault’s most extensive servicing package. Works will be completed with the dealer at its Exeter depot, close to Parsons’ base. 

Worsley added: “We wanted the most comprehensive repair and maintenance contract to ensure we are on top of any costs and won’t be hit with any unforeseen bills. It’s also reassuring to know that the truck is being maintained with genuine Renault Trucks parts and by the highly professional team at Sparks, who are located just up the road from us.”
