First Volvo trucks for more than ten years join Clarence Court Eggs fleet

Wiltshire-based Clarence Court Eggs has taken delivery of eight Volvo FH 6x2 tractor units and twelve Volvo FM 6x2 rear-steer rigids from Stuarts Truck and Bus, Exeter.

The new FH trucks, with mid-lift axles and Globetrotter cabs are powered by Volvo’s D13K 460hp engines, have single bunks and fridge/freezers as well as leather upholstery throughout.They are coupled to Chereau tri-axle fridge trailers fitted with Dhollandia under slung tail-lifts and each one can move up to 281,000 eggs at a time.

The twelve 370hp FM rear-steer rigids come with sleeper cabs and fridge bodies by G&A of Doncaster with Dhollandia under slung tail-lifts and are capable of carrying 173,000 eggs at a time.These are the first Volvo trucks for more than ten years to join the 23-strong fleet.

All the trucks are covered by a Gold R&M contract with Truck and Bus Wales and West in Swindon.Transport Manager at Clarence Court Eggs, Martin Hoar said: “The service and support provided by the dealership in Swindon has been great, we’re very happy with the job that they’re doing for us.”
