MAH UK Transport has taken delivery of five used Volvo FH 6x2 tractor units.
They will be used six days a week to transport box trailers from Croydon to Birmingham as part of a contract with another haulage firm, and are expected to cover up to 180,000km a year.
The new models are up to four years old and each fitted with Globetrotter cabs, a 33-litre under-bunk fridge/freezer, microwave, alloy wheels and Kelsa LED light bar. They were supplied with the manufacturer’s Blue maintenance contract, which involves regular maintenance with genuine parts at its Croydon Truck and Bus centre.
The move brings MAH’s total number of FHs, all supplied by Volvo Used Trucks Enfield, to 11, along with a then-new 2019 Volvo FH16 750 25 Year Special Edition tractor unit.
“We have been in a fortunate position where work has increased, and we have had a surge in demand,” said MAH owner Michael Harry, “as soon as there was a need to grow the fleet, I turned straight to Volvo Used Trucks and they were able to help me secure the additional tractor units I needed quickly.
“There is the added confidence of buying direct from the manufacturer; they can tell me the precise history of every truck, and the majority are returning ex-contract hire vehicles, meaning Volvo has looked after them from day one… My plan is to extend the fleet to 30 vehicles.”
