Channel Commercials has supplied infrastructure services provider and manufacturer of asphalt, FM Conway with six new DAF XF 530 6x2s.

This brings the total number of DAFs on the company's 400-strong truck fleet to 60.

Steve James, senior transport manager at FM Conway, said: "We are confident in the support provided by both DAF and Channel Commercials which allows us to maintain our high standards of service within the industry. The new DAF fleet will be integral to our operations, hauling bulk aggregate trailers to deliver materials to our asphalt plants. This investment aligns with our strategy to support our customers' needs with a focus on reliability and safety.” FM Conway cited total cost of ownership and safety as motivating factors for the sale. The XF units have a three-star DVS rating and feature DAF’s Digital Vision System and lower passenger door window. DAF dealer Channel Commercials is located close to FM Conway's Sevenoaks head-office so downtime should be kept to a minimum.

James added: “The trucks are three-star DVS-compliant straight from the factory. The XF cab provides excellent optical view for our drivers, which is crucial for operating safely in urban environments. The new XF fleet has met with a very positive reaction from our drivers.

“These fleet replacements are part of our broader strategy to enhance our service delivery capabilities. Our business continues to invest in state-of-the-art vehicles that not only meet regulatory standards but also contribute to our sustainability goals by ensuring efficient and safe transport of materials.”

The XF is part of DAF’s new generation range introduced in 2021. It’s also available with an electric powertrain along with XD, XB, and XDC and XFC construction vehicles. DAF’s UK and Ireland dealer network spans 136 locations and all 34 of its sales sites are equipped to support customers transitioning to electric.
