Fortec members have raised more than £8,000 for charity in memory of former MD, the late Rod Abrahams, who died from cancer last year.

Approximately 300 people attended the pallet network's annual dinner dance and awards ceremony on 4 June in Stratford-upon-Avon. A charity auction and raffle was held, with prizes including a signed Wayne Rooney shirt and a weekend break in Paris.

Proceeds are being donated to the Stafford Hospital Chemotherapy Unit, where the popular Abrahams was treated.

Neil Hodgson, Fortec MD, says: "It is a tribute to Rod's special qualities that so much money was raised on the night to help others in their fight against cancer. We all miss him, and the generosity of his colleagues and those who donated prizes is deeply touching."
