Northamptonshire-based LinkLine has taken delivery of four next generation Scania R500s from TruckEast to support future growth.

LinkLine, which specialises in food and drink, packaging and hazardous goods transport, specified the cabs with leather seats, satellite navigation, bluetooth, large bunks and rear storage lockers. The trucks are on a contract hire agreements with full R&M packages and will be maintained by the TruckEast dealerpoint in Wellingborough.

Commercial Director, James Bowes, said: “As the next generation models boast even more room inside the cabs, it really does deliver a spacious and enjoyable working environment. The mpg is fantastic, it really was a no brainer. When considering our options, we talked to companies we work with and trust that were already running the product and they confirmed what we’d already heard about its performance.”

LinkLine, which operates a mixed marque fleet of more than 40 trucks, is due to open a 70,000sq ft distribution hub in Liverpool and is also set to take eight new trailers in August. Bowes praised the service his company has received from TruckEast.

“The area sales Manager, Tom McCullagh was always accessible and gave superb service levels and the local Wellingborough team has been attentive at all times”, he said. “This is what I expect from a supplier. To be there and simply do what they say they’ll do.”
