The founders of Fowler Welch-Coolchain have both passed away in the early hours of Friday morning at the Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, Lincolnshire.

Jim Welch, 75, and Maurice (Mo) Fowler, 73, formed Fowler Welch in 1988. The business was acquired by Dart Group in 1994, and today has a turnover of £116m, employing 1,130 people across 10 sites.

MD David Inglis says: "Mo and Jim were two remarkable characters, both genuinely kind, warm-hearted human beings. They will be sadly missed by friends, colleagues and business associates, not only locally but across the country.

"Our thoughts of course are with their families at this sad time."
