Grand Prix Express has signed a five-year, full-service contract hire agreement with Fraikin for three DAF rigids.
The 18-tonne CFs, which join the firm’s fleet of 30, come with JC Payne curtain-sided bodies with tail-lifts, as well as forward-facing and reversing cameras. They replace trucks previously on contract hire from a competitor.
Fraikin will provide all maintenance and servicing on a collection and delivery basis, and supply a substitute vehicle to Grand Prix Express while any work is being carried out.
The new vehicles, based at the operator’s main site in Mochdre, near Colwyn Bay, will be in operation five days a week, delivering pallets and parcels across the UK and covering about 50,000 miles a year. They feature a special livery to mark the haulier’s 40th anniversary.
Russell Godwin, MD of Grand Prix Express, said: “Fraikin supplied us with a short-term rental solution last year and the support we received was second to none.
“We’re now benefitting from proactive maintenance and access to the FraikinView web portal, which allows us to see the status of our Fraikin assets at any time. It’s a great innovation for helping to make sure our fleet is always running at full capacity.”
