Freight Transport Association (FTA) president Stewart Oades is going the extra mile for transport charity Transaid in June with a gruelling cycle tour of Britain and Ireland.
Oades will visit each of the FTA's 14 regions and each regional chairman has been challenged to recruit a local team of cyclists who will raise funds through sponsorships and cycling between 50 and 60 miles in their region.
Motor Transport editor Steve Hobson has promised to accompany Oades on the first and last legs of his tour de Britain on 7 and 22 June.
