Gerry Jones Transport has been granted planning permission to build a new South Wales warehouse. Caerphilly Council has approved plans to demolish existing buildings at its Crosskeys, Caerphilly, facility and build a new 30,000sq ft storage area, with an 18m x 44m loading canopy. The firm has been using the Crosskeys site for trailer parking and storage, following its move to nearby Cwmcarn four years ago.

It plans to start work on the warehouse, which will cost between £750,000 and £1m, in the new year. Gerry Jones, managing director, says: "The loading bay will mean we will be able to stack about seven pallets high. This facility will give us the opportunity to further our warehousing capability and attract more business."
