Shrewsbury-based GH Davies Farms has taken delivery of six new Fruehauf tipping trailers.
Commenting on the new tri-axle trailers, which are all replacements, company owner Harry Davies says Fruehauf was chosen because of its speed of delivery.
“They are all 70cu yard capacity trailers with a 12in dome. In addition, they all have power operated tailgates and easy sheet systems, everything to make the driver’s life easier,” he added. Other features include PM/VPG weighing systems, SAF disc axles and Alcoa Dura-Bright wheels.
The smooth-sided trailers, which were ordered in November, are reported to be more fuel efficient than the company’s ribbed trailers to the tune of between 0.5mpg and 0.7mpg.
In addition hauling its own commodities, the trailers will be used for contracts with major grain merchants as well as local quarries, and will cover about 120,000km per annum.
Fruehauf will be exhibiting at Road Transport Expo at NAEC Stoneleigh (30 June to 2 July). Register now for FREE.
