Hull-based truck and trailer hire company Grayrentals, is set to undergo a 're-branding' process and will officially adopt the name TIP as of today (1 September).
This transition signifies the culmination of Grayrentals' integration into the TIP Group, uniting its trailer and truck hire services under a unified banner.
Having maintained its autonomous identity for the past eight years, Grayrentals has gradually aligned with the TIP family since its acquisition in 2015 by the commercial vehicle specialist. This strategic integration has facilitated growth, propelling Grayrentals into a significant player in the contract hire sector.
While the name changes, the company says its commitment to exceptional expertise and customer service remains intact, as it continues to cater to a diverse clientele in the commercial vehicle sector.
The new TIP powered division continues to be led by Jonny Clark, with Terry Moody, one of the original owners, retaining a vital role within the TIP management team. This division’s rental fleet ranges from 7.5 tonners upwards, including rigids and tractor units (like the DAF pictured). The fleet extends to encompass alternative-fuelled and electric vehicles, along with specialised offerings like cement mixers.
Responding to strong customer demand, TIP's powered fleet has grown impressively from nearly 250 units in 2015 to surpass 3,000 in the present year.

Today marks the cessation of Grayrentals as a distinct legal entity, with business operations transitioning to the legal entity of TIP Trailer Services UK.
