Grays Truck & Van Croydon has relocated to a new commercial vehicle sales, service and parts dealership on the former site of Croydon Airport.

As part of an investment of almost £1m, the Iveco-owned dealership has been fitted out with vehicle maintenance and diagnostic equipment, including a new tachograph bay and brake roller tester.
It also has vehicle ramps in nine of the 12 work bays.

The dealership carries out MoT preparation and brake testing as well as tachograph and speed limiter calibration and fitting.

It is also the base for two Iveco roadside assistance vehicles - on standby 24/7 – and has a typical stockholding of more than £270,000 of original Iveco spare parts.

Grays Truck & Van has been in the south east since 1979 and has other sites in Guildford, Reading and Hayes.

Nigel Emms, director brand and communications at Iveco, believes the new Croydon facility is one of the largest franchised commercial vehicle workshops inside the M25.

He says: “Croydon is a strategically key location in our network, not only for its close proximity to central London, but for the fact it is situated in an area with such a high concentration of commercial vehicles.

“We need a 12-bay workshop to meet the servicing demand Grays Truck & Van is seeing from customers. Plus we’ve used the relocation as a fantastic opportunity to kit out the dealership from scratch, exactly the way we want it.

“As well as the extensive parts and servicing facilities, we’ve also included valuable space for the new and used vehicle sales operation.”
