Gregory Distribution has added to its warehousing capacity with a depot on Hilltop Industrial Estate in Coalville creating 50 new jobs in the process.
The site is Gregory’s first warehouse in the Midlands and is currently servicing five customers in both food and non-food sectors since it was made operational in January with a fleet of 15 to 20 trucks.
Coalville adds another 220,000 sq ft of warehouse capacity to Gregory’s sizeable 1,360,000 sq ft of space across the UK.
Gregory MD, Angela Butler said: “As a group we support customers with distribution across the whole of the UK, with a particularly strong presence in the South West of England and across Scotland. A key part of our strategy has been to increase our footprint in the Midlands, and taking on the Coalville site is an exciting development which enables us to do just that. We already have a busy transport depot in Minworth and the Coalville warehouse will supplement this and enable us to serve a wider range of customers.”
There are currently 30 other employees which will grow to around 50 with drivers, warehouse operatives and office positions all yet to be filled.
