Bromsgrove-based GT Access has purchased a new Iveco Stralis X-Way to meet growing demand for its powered access equipment hire services.

Supplied under a hire purchase agreement in November by Guest Truck and Van, the day-cabbed 8-wheeler with rear lifting axle has the 400hp Cursor 9 Euro-6c engine with 12-speed automated transmission, and features a plant body with winch and handrails supplied by Shawtrack Services, near Mansfield.

With all-wheel drive, it is well suited to use on muddy building sites.

The new truck, along with a Stralis XP 6x2 high-roof sleeper cabbed tractor that is due to arrive imminently, brings the all-Iveco fleet at GT Access to 29 trucks. Two further, similarly-specified X-Ways are also on order.

GT Access owner Jonathan Till commented: “We have worked with Guest Truck and Van for around 15 years and as we are constantly adding to our fleet and looking at opportunities to grow, the relationship has been very positive over the years. 2020 is going to be a big year for us again and we are delighted to have added these vehicles to our fleet so we can get straight into action.”
