Designed to support managers and those looking for leadership roles, Guest Motor Group has founded a training academy. The Iveco and Fiat Professional commercial vehicle dealer group will offer training through its academy across 14 locations in England. The programme is headed by Dean Rippon, Guest’s head of training and process improvement and will be completed in collaboration with Weston College. The course was developed with the college that offers education from GCSE up to degree level.

Robert Spittle, MD of Guest Motor Group, said: “The Guest Motor Group Academy is the latest step in our continual development programme for the business, and makes the career development opportunities that have always been available to our colleagues even more accessible.

“Weston College has specialist experience in our sector and we have worked with them for some time, making them the obvious choice to provide some of our programmes.

“We have an excellent product range, which is supported by an extensive service operation delivered by more than 150 HGV technicians. There has been an apprenticeship programme for many years, but for managers, where career development training was available only on demand, there was a need to formalise the opportunities that we provide. Our new academy does that.

“We focus a great deal on alternative fuels and future technologies, not just selling and servicing commercial vehicles, so It’s an interesting time to be part of Guest Motor Group and to develop a career with our academy.”

David Crew, head of business growth and employer partnerships at Weston College, said: “Weston College offers a variety of training and development opportunities for businesses. Our bespoke approach ensures that businesses get the right support to help them develop appropriate training programmes for both existing and new employees.

“Guest Motor Group is a great company for us to be working with and we look forward to helping their managers develop their careers to become industry leaders of the future.”
